Practice  
In March 2010, Shawn Richard joined Adair Morse as an associate. He is building a broad civil litigation practice in the areas of tort litigation, commercial litigation, personal injury, insurance litigation, medical malpractice, and professional negligence. Prior to joining Adair Morse, Shawn articled and practiced at a civil litigation boutique, where he worked on medical malpractice actions, professional disciplinary matters, and complex commercial disputes.  
 
Professional Involvement  
Shawn is a member of the Canadian Bar Association.  
 
Other Involvement  
Before attending law school, Shawn was a qualitative researcher and bioethicist. He has published papers and given several presentations on different issues, including priority setting in health care, informed decision-making, reproductive technologies, pharmacogenomics, end-of-life care, and culture and brain death.

While in law school, Shawn volunteered at a legal clinic, Downtown Legal Services, and in the Human Rights Litigation Working Group. He participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and the Arnup Cup. Shawn received the Gowlings Prize in Trial Advocacy and was the teaching assistant for the Trial Advocacy course during his final year of law school. Currently, he instructs Trial Advocacy at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.

Shawn is a former Big Brother for the Big Brothers and Sisters of Metropolitan Toronto.
