Practice  
Catherine Bruder practices civil litigation in a wide variety of areas including professional negligence, products liability, major tort and negligence cases and insurance coverage matters.  Catherine has appeared as counsel in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court and the Ontario Court of Appeal.  She has also acted as counsel at arbitrations at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal.  
 
Professional Involvement  
Catherine is a member of the Advocates Society, the Metropolitan Lawyer’s Association, the Canadian Bar Association and the Defence Research Institute.  She has successfully completed the Intensive Trial Advocacy Workshop at Osgood Hall organized by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.  
 
NOTABLE CASES  
Polsinelli v. Goodman [2003] O.J. No. 1075 (Ont. S.C.) – Catherine acted for the defendant in a personal injury action arising out of a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  The defendant was successful in obtaining judgment against the third party for 35% of the damages awarded.

Doucette v. Parent [1996] O.J. No. 3493 (Ont. Gen. Div.) – Catherine acted for the defendant in an action arising as a result of property damage sustained by the plaintiff.  The plaintiff’s action, framed both in negligence and nuisance, was dismissed with costs to the defendant.
 
 
PUBLICATIONS/PRESENTATIONS  
Catherine has presented a number of seminars on topics that include:

commercial general liability policies;
  automobile insurance policies;
  Workplace Safety and Insurance Act applications;
